Order of the Sinking Star Release Date and Platforms

When did it release, and where can you play it?

Order of the Sinking Star released on October 8, 2026; some regions reached the game on October 9 because of the release schedule. The confirmed platforms are PC via Steam, Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5, as listed in the official global release announcement.

The date is already past, so a player checking today should use the store for their own region rather than wait for a future launch window. The Steam listing confirms the PC release date and marks the game as single-player.

What does each confirmed platform mean?

Each confirmed option covers the same broad game identity, but the purchase route is different:

Platform	What the official information confirms	Where to check
PC	Available through Steam from the October 8 launch	Steam store page
Steam Deck	The developer announced Steam Deck Verified with optimized controls and interface	Steam Deck announcement
Nintendo Switch 2	Included in the global launch announcement and official Switch 2 overview	Release schedule · official overview video
PlayStation 5	Included in the global launch announcement	Official release schedule

“Verified” describes the Steam Deck compatibility badge and the publisher’s target experience; it does not guarantee an identical frame rate on every hardware revision or setting. Use the current Steam Deck badge and player reports as a second check if handheld performance is your deciding factor.

Which platforms are still unconfirmed?

The official release pages checked on October 14, 2026 do not list an original Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PS4, native macOS, native Linux, or physical edition. That is a documentation boundary, not proof that those versions can never exist. Treat any later announcement as a new source and recheck the official news feed before changing this list.

The old June demo was a Steam event and should not be used as evidence for Switch 2 or PS5 availability. If you are comparing purchase options, read the price guide next; if you are deciding whether the long puzzle format suits you, start with the overview and reviews.
